What does International Business at the University of Groningen mean?
With the three-year Bachelor’s degree in International Business at the University of Groningen you will be trained for a management position in an international business environment. The study is, of course, internationally oriented and taught in English. Additionally, you will be given the opportunity to study abroad for one semester.
You will follow a combination of courses such as Business Management, Sociology, Economics and Law. For this study, it is important to have a good command of the English language, as well as an understanding of mathematical, quantitative research methods and economics. Additionally, the differences in doing business in different countries should be something that makes you enthusiastic. The diversity in origins of fellow students and teachers at the University of Groningen will help you learn more about this.
In the first year of the course, you will start off with an intensive introductory programme and lay a broad foundation. In the second year, you will follow the courses Cross-Cultural Management, Comparative Country Studies, as well as Research Methods and Statistics. You will attend lectures by guest speakers, attend workshops and seminars and take short study trips.
In the third year you will study a year abroad, as mentioned earlier. Here, you will develop your international skills. In the final stage of International Business, you will write a Bachelor’s thesis. Do you want to know more about the course? Check out the website of the University of Groningen here.
